SIZE One approx. 20x70 cm

MATERIALS Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Chunky [55% merino wool, 33% microfibre 12% cashmere], 3 balls
1 set of 4.5mm straight needles
5-6 mm circular needle, the longer the better, I had 100 cm
Tapestry needle

GAUGE 18 sts = 10 cm in stockinette stitch Note: Yarn is worked more tightly than recommended gauge to produce a firm fabric. The edge ribbing is worked looser though.

PATTERN NOTES
C2B: Work as if to K2tog but don't pull the original stitches off of the left needle. Re-insert the right needle into the right stitch of the k2tog and knit this stitch, and then pull both of the original stitches off the needle.
B (bubble) : Into next stitch: k1, p1, k1, p1, turn, k4, turn, sl stitch purlwise, p3tog, psso skp: Slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over
K1f&b: Knit 1 through front and back
2x2 Cabled Rib
Round 1: [K2, P2] to end
Round 2: [K2, P2] to end
Round 3: [C2B, P2] to end
Round 4: [K2, P2] to end
Repeat these rounds

DIRECTIONS
CO 6 sts using 4,5mm needles
Row 1: [WS] Purl
Row 2: [RS] K1, M1, knit to 1 st before end, M1, K1
Repeat these two rows until there are 22 sts
Purl 1 row
Work the Mimosa chart. Shown here are the RS rows, all WS row are purled.



















After the Mimosa chart is completed continue in stockinette until the piece measures 50 cm from the beg.
Start decreasing:
Row 1: [RS] K1, skp, knit to 3 sts before end, K2tog, K1
Row 2: [WS] Purl
Repeat these two rows until there are 6 sts left
BO all sts but do not cut the yarn. Leave the last st on the needle and start the cabled rib edging. Using the long circular needle pick up sts along the sides and the ends of the scarf. Work in round. Both ends need more stitches than could be picked up, therefore you need to do increases.
Round 1: [K1, K1f&b, P1] repeat that until the straight part begins, continue in cabled rip pattern. Work the increases again when you come to the other end, continue cabled rib pattern along the straight side and complete the round with increases in the end.
I had 92 [x2] sts along the sides and 48 [x2] sts along the round ends = 280 sts in the round.
Work 13 rounds of the cabled rib. BO all sts loosely. Weave in ends.
